Paul is originally from New York City. His love of photography began when he was a young teenager helping his father develop BW photos in his basement darkroom. It was there that he learned the basics of photography which he uses today.

He has always had an interest in capturing life’s colors. His early work included photographing graffiti and street life in New York. When he retired to Costa Rica he found so much color in the birds and other wildlife set against the lush green rainforest.

Now that he has moved to Lagos, Portugal he has found a unique setting to show off life’s colors with the calçadas Portuguesas.

Paul has been featured in Tomorrow Algarve Magazine as part of an article on those calçadas Portuguesas.

He has also had photo exhibitions in Lagos with Look Up! - about the colorful birds found in Lagos and the surrounding areas, In Around Lagos Town - a photo journey through an historic town, Celebrating the Calçadas Portuguesas of Lagos, and his upcoming The Fisherman’s Harbour of Lagos - which captures the work of the fishermen and their traditional artisanal fishing boats.

He hopes to continue his photographic journey here in Portugal by doing many more road trips to capture what makes Portugal the special country that it is.
